Security Hospital Treatment Assistant
A Security Hospital Treatment Assistant will perform a variety of tasks related to care, engagement, treatment, education, recovery, safety, and security of individuals with mental illness in forensic hospitals and units operated by OMH, including :
- Participate in the development and implementation of treatment plans
- Interact with patients and observe and progress and responses to treatment
- Assist and instruct patients in attending to person care tasks
- Escort patients to activities and appointments on and facility grounds
- Complete necessary documentation and maintain patient records
Candidates from outside State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide (HELPS) program.
Candidates must possess a High School or High School Equivalency Diploma and two years of full-time direct patient care experience working in a health care, behavioral health, corrections, or juvenile justice setting / program. OR An associate's degree and one year of full-time direct patient care experience working in a health care, behavioral health, corrections or juvenile justice setting or a bachelor's degree.
