Job Description

We're looking for a skilled Neurodiagnostic Technologist to join our dynamic Neurodiagnostic Lab team! You'll perform essential neurodiagnostic tests that help physicians uncover what's happening beneath the surface - from EEGs and EMGs to video monitoring and evoked potential studies.

Working under the direction of the Director of the Neurodiagnostic Lab, you'll not only deliver high-quality patient testing but also play a key role in mentoring new staff and guiding students through hands-on clinical learning.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and explain procedures to patients, ensuring comfort and understanding
  • Perform and interpret a variety of neurodiagnostic tests, including standard and complex EEGs, evoked potentials, video monitoring, and nerve conduction studies (EMG)
  • Set up and adjust EEG equipment, filters, and sensitivity settings for accurate readings - even during challenging or unusual cases like electro-cerebral silence
  • Conduct auditory, visual, and somatosensory studies to assess brain-stem function
  • Use video monitoring to capture and analyze seizure activity, distinguishing between different seizure types
  • Apply electrodes precisely - even in complex cases involving skull defects, shunts, or brain swelling - and use collodion application when necessary
  • Perform EMG testing by stimulating and recording electrical activity in peripheral nerves, calculating nerve conduction velocity, and analyzing results
  • Provide training and guidance to new staff and student interns, ensuring top-quality patient care and accurate documentation
  • Calibrate, clean, and maintain highly sensitive equipment
  • Complete all patient testing documentation, including charge slips, accurately and on time
  • Support quality improvement, patient safety, and cultural diversity initiatives
  • Deliver care that meets each patient's physical, emotional, and educational needs - always with a courteous and professional attitude
  • Stay current on compliance requirements, regulations, and departmental standards, and participate in ongoing compliance activities

What You Bring (Minimum Requirements)

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an AMA-accredited EEG / EMG program or equivalent years of experience in EEG, EMG, or EP
  • Certification as a Registered EEG Technologist plus one (1) additional END modality
  • Current BCLS certification (must be maintained for continued employment)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead and mentor small groups with confidence and positivity
