We are on a mission to grow Second Nature Brands from $500MM to $1+B in the next 4 years through a combination of organic growth (increased distribution, e-commerce, and innovation) and M&A. We are seeking an Accounting and Reporting Manage r at our Oakbrook, IL office . Reporting to the Assistant Corporate Controller, the Accounting & Reporting Manager is responsible for leading the monthly close process and ensuring financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP. In addition, they will provide analytical input, recommend process improvements with a focus on data and automation, and assist with systems project activity as planned for a rapidly growing company.

Essential duties and responsibilities include :

• Manage the Company’s overall monthly financial close process, including four plants, multiple accounting systems (Sage and SAP), and foreign currency translations
• Review and post journal entries and accruals
• Prepare the consolidated financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, statement of cashflow), including trend reporting and analysis; prepare quarterly Lender Reporting package
• Collaborate with FP&A, operations, and plant finance teams on variance analysis and financial performance
• Review monthly account reconciliations and weekly bank reconciliations
• Assist with the preparation of business process and standard operating procedures documentation to contribute to an effective and efficient financial reporting and system of internal controls
• Assist with the annual financial statement audit
• Guide, coach, and mentor Sr. Accountants
• Recommend process and control improvements, including leveraging data and automation to drive simplicity and efficiency
• Support the design and implementation of new system and reporting implementations
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and participate in special projects, as required

This is a typical office and desk role. There may be times you will be regularly required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, and use your hands to control computerized equipment.
