Representative Duties
This is for an adjunct pool that will be used to staff part-time adjunct positions. The district accepts applications for part-time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis so the division can contact qualified applicants immediately if a need arises. If there is interest and / or need within the specific department, applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be contacted by respective department supervisors, deans and / or division chairs.
Applications submitted will remain active for up to two years. The starting salary range is $60.00 / hour; Hourly rate may vary based on type of assignment and the Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) formula. For more information, refer to the CCA collective bargaining agreement or the college HR office.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy or marriage, family and child counseling.
Note : A bachelor's degree in one of the listed degrees and a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative qualification for this discipline. OR the equivalent. Certain combinations of education, experience, and other accomplishments may be judged as equal to the stated minimum qualifications. Candidates who feel they possess such equivalent qualifications must request and submit an APPLICATION FOR EQUIVALENCE form. Supporting documents must be included with the completed form. AND a demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience in serving veteran students. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and counseling Student Veterans, providing academic counseling and support services, and contributing to the development of programs and services for student veterans. Ability to create education plans in strict accordance with Veterans Affairs regulations allowing students to maintain eligibility for military service-related educational benefits; Ability to work with a diverse student population with emphasis on student veterans or active-duty military personnel.
Note : Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions. Foreign degrees must be evaluated. The screening of candidates will be conducted by a screening committee and meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview.
