You will practice with a level of independence and demonstrate a keen awareness of clinical situations, delivering both routine and complex care. You will be instrumental in developing long-term care goals and adeptly managing the clinical landscape while collaborating with other care providers.\n\nResponsibilities : \n
- Exhibit leadership competencies in accordance with OneCHRISTUS standards.\n
- Deliver patient-centered nursing care using the nursing process : assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.\n
- Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.\n
- Administer medications and treatments as per protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.\n
- Document patients' histories, symptoms, medications, and care provided.\n
- Assess educational needs and provide necessary resources and education to patients and caregivers.\n\nJob Requirements : \n\nEducation / Skills\n
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.\n\nExperience\n
- Preferred : 1 year of experience in a relevant nursing specialty.\n\nLicenses, Registrations, or Certifications\n
- BLS certification required.\n
- Valid RN License in the state of employment or a compact license.\n\nPosition Requirements : \n\nEducation / Skills\n
- All newly hired experienced RNs must complete New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.\n
- New hires will be precepted by a trained staff member and must successfully complete competency validations specific to Emergency Department practices.\n
- Newly licensed RNs have the opportunity to participate in a residency program to enhance their skills.\n
- Annual competency verification must be completed as part of ongoing professional development.\n\nExperience\n
- 1 year of experience in a related specialty is preferred.\n\nLicenses, Registrations, or Certifications\n
- Current ACLS and PALS certifications required.\n\nIn accordance with the CHRISTUS Health policies, all team members must meet certification requirements within specified time frames.\n\nCredential Grace Periods : \n\nIf additional credentials are mandated, a grace period will apply based on experience level : \n
- Those with 1 year of acute care experience are considered Experienced Associates.\n
- Those without 1 year of full-time acute care experience are regarded as Experienced Associates New to the Specialty.\n\nCredential Grace Periods for Experienced Associates : \n\nCredential Grace Periods for New Graduates & Experienced Associates New to the Specialty : \n
- Basic Life Support (BLS) : No grace period for all.\n
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) : 30 days for Experienced vs. 90 days for New Graduates.\n
- Pediatric Life Support (PALS) : 30 days for Experienced vs. 90 days for New Graduates.\n
