Position : Axe And Grounds Team Member

Job Summary : This position will be focused on the outdoor interactive areas of our 10-acre property. This includes our indoor axe throwing lanes, our backyard space, and public event spaces. The role entails completing ongoing maintenance, completing special projects, and ensuring property aesthetics.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

Axe Throwing and Other Recreation Events

Ensure the facility, lanes and equipment are always event-ready and be able to assist in all aspects to keep things running smoothly.

Ensure all yard games, sporting equipment, are in good working order and available for guests. Collaborate with managers to purchase new items when necessary.

Occasionally assist with Private Events in setting up and implementing small bonfires for s'mores, games and activities such as soccer, flag football, other activities as requested.

Grounds Maintenance

Ensure property is in good standing; including but not limited to cabanas, rope lighting (bulbs, etc), stage setup for live music, and other outdoor spaces.

In the case of private / public events, assist in setup such as chairs, music equipment, and other events needs.

Assist team in pond maintenance including but not limited to :

• Skimming of ponds;
• Removal of small debris;
• Ensuring pump baskets are emptied / clear;
• Water wheel has no obstacles;
• Water levels are optimal - refill as needed.

Perform light landscaping such as pulling weeds, removing leaves, mulching and edging as needed, and other basic grounds tasks.

Perform other maintenance tasks as assigned, including but not limited to, painting, minor carpentry and basic repair.

Supervisory Responsibilities : This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Expectations & Weekly Schedule

This position works on-premise at our Nelson County location.

Weekly tasks will be assigned ahead of time and employee may be asked to work nights or weekends (on occasion) to support setup for public or private events

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, throwing, lifting, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching. The position may require heavy lifting of up to 160 pounds.
