Support Specialist I

Location : Germantown, MD
UFA, Inc., a global leader in developing Air Traffic Control (ATC) simulation and voice recognition technologies, is seeking a Support Specialist. Our Support Specialists are a key component of our operations by providing test, installation, training, and support services for our domestic and international clients and by collaborating between the software development teams and the end user to ensure that systems provided meet or exceed expectations.
Job Responsibilities :
Successful candidate(s) will be using their expertise and experience on project deployment and development teams for our many commercial and DOD programs. Specific responsibilities include the following :
- Provide first level support to our broad base of commercial, civil, and DOD Customers via helpdesk platform from initial submission to closure
- Provide product expertise and support to new business development, marketing and sales, and engineering
- Conduct product demonstrations and customer installations and training
- Support writing and maintaining training materials and user manuals
- Contribute to the preparation and execution of test planning for customer projects
- Support creation of test plans and test cases based on system requirements and design specifications
- Collaborate with product engineers and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and identify root causes
Domestic & International Travel is a requirement of this position. Please indicate a percentage of time you are willing to travel in the application questions.
Required Qualifications :
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skillsProficient using Microsoft Windows operating systemsExperience using Linux operating systemsExperience with Microsoft Office tools, including SharePointExcellent oral and written communications skillsSelf-motivated and willing to learn and explore new technologiesExcellent time-management skills with commitment to meet deadlines, and able to manage competing prioritiesDue to customer security requirements, successful candidate(s) must be qualified to apply for a Position of Public Trust clearanceTravel required pending project allocations, expected at least 25%Physical Requirements :
Occasional Transporting – Up to 50 IbsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboardDesired Qualifications :
Recent working knowledge (within 5 years) of Air Traffic Control environments as a graduate of an Air Traffic Collegiate Training Initiative (AT-CTI) Program, a former military or civil Tower, Terminal, and / or En Route Controller, or degree in Aeronautics, Aerospace, or AviationPilot's License and / or previous experience with software-based standalone or embedded ATC simulation products is a real plusKnowledge of Atlassian suite and Freshworks suiteRecent working knowledge of FBOAbout UFA :
