As a Security Professional - Education Roving Unarmed in Jersey City, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within an educational location, helping to deter security-related incidents and creating a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to promote peace of mind, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. Pay Rate : $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule : Day Time

Tue 07 : 00 AM - 03 : 00 PM

Wed 03 : 00 PM - 11 : 00 PM

Thur 03 : 00 PM - 11 : 00 PM

Sat 07 : 00 AM - 03 : 00 PM

Sun 07 : 00 AM - 03 : 00 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients, students, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within the educational environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations on campus in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around campus buildings and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual activities, hazards, or security-related issues encountered during patrols to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying identification as required, and / or escorting visitors as needed.
  • Support Allied Universal and client staff during emergencies and / or drills by following instructions and assisting with crowd management.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of activities, incidents, and / or observations during each shift.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Possession of a Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
