Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Chattanooga, Tennessee 37412 (Tennessee nursing jobs)

Facility : 30-bed Medical-Surgical unit

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing (Med / Surg travel nurse)

Start Date : January 12, 2026

End Date : April 13, 2026

Duration : 13-week contract

Shift : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM (12-hour night shifts)

Hours per Week : 36

Schedule : Every other weekend and holiday rotation; self-scheduling available

Floating : May float between 2 North and 2 West Med / Surg units

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1530 - $1640

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (Tennessee or compact state)

BLS certification required

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience

Proficiency in IV starts, NGT placement, wound care, and cardiac rhythm interpretation

Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and perform lab draws

Strong communication skills and a patient-focused attitude

Must wear navy scrubs (no fleece or sweatshirts)

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to medical-surgical patients

Perform IV starts, NGT placement, wound care, and cardiac rhythm monitoring

Operate wound vacs, heparin gtts, suction, IV pumps, glucometers, bladder scanners, feeding pumps, and telemetry equipment

Document patient care using Editech system

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including techs, clinical coordinators, charge nurses, and leadership

Provide excellent patient and family experiences, including service recovery and escalation as needed

Engage in a supportive, learning-focused environment with opportunities for recognition and professional development
