Overview
Director, Design (GSV) at Golden State Valkyries – Design Director to lead the creative process within the Studio team. In this role, you will develop first-class designs for the organization and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. This position reports to the Executive Producer (GSV). This is a full-time position based in Oakland, CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and produce a wide variety of cross-platform creative deliverables for internal and external clients
- Establish and manage all design systems across the GSV brand
- Manage a team of multiple graphic designers
- Collaborate with Marketing on full-scale campaigns and evolve visual brand identity
- Develop multiple design projects concurrently and execute according to established timelines
- Prioritize and track projects across the design team using creative process / project management tools
- Assist with print production (e.g., set up files, file archiving)
- Other duties as assigned
Required Experience & Skills
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Graphic Design, or equivalent work experienceMinimum 7 years of visual design experience at an ad agency, design firm, or within an internal creative teamProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)Familiarity with both print and web design executionsAbility to understand the needs of requestors, follow direction, and respond positively to feedbackPhotography and illustration skills are a plusAbility to share an online creative portfolioExcellent written and verbal communication, service and resolution skillsHighly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentCompensation
