Facilities Electrician
The Facilities Electrician is responsible for providing support to the facilities operation during the initial set up phase and ongoing operation thereafter through the installation, repair and maintenance of electrically powered systems, and equipment including distribution systems and equipment. The Facilities Electrician will follow accepted procedures and techniques of the electrical trade, ensuring the facilities operation is best in class. The cannabis industry is constantly evolving, so you must be open to learning and implementing new technologies and methods to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

General Responsibilities
Electrical Operations
- Apply electrical formulas, code requirements, and technical data to complete tasks accurately and safely
- Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and restore power to systems and equipment efficiently
- Plan and execute layouts and installations of electrical systems, fixtures, and controls
- Conduct scheduled inspections and routine maintenance to prevent system breakdowns
- Maintain electrical distribution systems following regulatory safety codes and best practices
- Determine material, tool, and labor requirements for assigned tasks
Maintenance & Safety
Implement and manage preventive maintenance programsPerform minor repairs and adjustments to electrical and mechanical equipmentMaintain a safe work environment by observing and enforcing safety regulations and proceduresEnsure electrical systems comply with building and safety codesEssentials Duties

Required
Must be 21 years of age or olderHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of 2 years of relevant electrical work experience or equivalent education / trainingBasic understanding of industrial electrical systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and repairKnowledge of electrical safety practices and applicable regulations (e.g., NEC / FBC)Ability to read and interpret basic schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagramsValid government-issued photo IDGeneral Environment Requirements
Frequent exposure to temperature (e.g., hot greenhouse environments and cold indoor rooms)Exposure to environmental elements such as dust, fumes, allergens (including cannabis), plant material, and cleaning chemicalsWork in areas with humidity and varying lighting or air conditioning levelsPreferred
Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship or vocational programExperience equivalent to a Journeyman Electrician levelProficiency with testing tools such as multimeters, voltage / phase testers, etc.Experience with backup power systems, high-hazard zones, or regulated environmentsStrong understanding of complex schematics and technical documentationPhysical Requirements
