Position : Storeroom Supervisor
Department : Purchasing Department
Location : Macon, GA
Reports to : Procurement Manager
Job Purpose :
The Storeroom Supervisor is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory records for all raw materials, finished goods, and other supplies used by the company. The role ensures that inventory levels are sufficient to meet production needs, while also minimizing inventory holding costs and obsolescence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage activities related to material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, issue / delivery and receiving of repairable maintenance goods.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to ensure accurate tracking of inventory levels and transactions
- Assess MRO inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of ordering.
- Work closely with production, purchasing, and accounting departments to reconcile inventory records and identify discrepancies
- Trains Parts Clerks in cycle counting and inventory control.
- Act as a liaison between maintenance and Procurement on supplier questions, expedites, and delivery coordination.
- Prepare inventory reports and analysis, including inventory turnover, stock-out rates, and obsolete inventory levels
- Perform periodic physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings in inventory management
- Lead initiatives and projects designed to improve safety, compliance, effectiveness, and improved efficiencies for the operation of the storeroom. Develop, manage, and meet Storeroom KPIs for continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business administration, supply chain or related field or equivalent work experience3-5 years of experience in inventory management or related fieldStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience with inventory management software and systemsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsDetail-oriented and highly organizedAbility to work independently and as part of a teamFamiliarity with regulatory requirements related to inventory management, such as SOX, preferred.Adherence to safety standards and regulations in a high-paced environmentProficiency with Microsoft office.Physical Requirements :
Must be able to lift at least 30lbs and to push-pull up to 45lbs.Must be able to work long periods while continuously standing, twisting, bending, reaching, and stooping.Must be able to go up and down steps and ladders multiple times a day.Must be able to work environment which is dusty and noisy.Must be able to work in plant environment with extreme seasonal temperatures.
