PHARMACY BENEFITS COORDINATOR

LOCATION & BENEFIT :

Remote – must live in the Dallas Fort Worth area

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE :

  • $18–20 / hr.
  • Monday - Friday | availability for an 8-hour shift between 8am - 8pm EST or 7am – 7pm CST

ROLE IMPACT

Make a difference in patient access from day one. As a Pharmacy Benefits Coordinator, you'll be at the frontline of healthcare logistics—securing timely insurance approvals so patients can begin their prescribed treatments without unnecessary delay. Your precision and coordination will directly support care teams, reduce coverage gaps, and improve the patient journey.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct insurance benefit investigations and document all activity in internal systems
  • Submit prior authorization requests and necessary documentation to insurance providers
  • Manage inbound calls and escalate complex inquiries appropriately
  • Liaise with insurance payors, provider offices, and pharmacies to expedite coverage decisions
  • Track and follow up on pending authorizations, flagging delays to leadership

    • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ years’ experience in pharmacy, medical insurance, or healthcare administration
  • Strong communication and customer service capabilities
  • Knowledge of medical and pharmacy benefits across major insurers

    • CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS

  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Microsoft Word

    • PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience in benefit verification or prior authorization support
  • Background in call center or high-volume reimbursement settings
