Description :

The role requires a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical nursing.

Candidates must hold a current basic life support certification.

An active RN license is mandatory.

Floating to other units will be required but limited to skills possessed.

Weekend coverage is an expectation of this position.

Patient age groups typically include adults and geriatrics.

The daily census is approximately 30 patients.

The unit is responsible for general medical pre and post-operative care, including special procedures such as post heart catheterization.

Bedside procedures such as dialysis catheter placements, thoracentesis, and incision and drainage may be expected.

Experience with isolation precautions and managing peripheral lines is essential.

Familiarity with oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management is also required.

Knowledge of the charting system used on the unit is necessary.

Travelers must comply with unit floating policies and perform tasks only in units where competencies have been verified.

Completion of required modules is necessary within defined timeframes.
