Position Overview :

KODA is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Digital Engineering (DE) to lead, grow, and enhance our Digital Engineering capabilities. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in systems and digital engineering, along with a proven ability to lead people, shape strategy, and engage customers and industry partners. This leadership role will focus on leading KODA DE teams, developing and mentoring DE talent, advancing company-wide DE practices, and serving as a thought leader both within the company and in the broader engineering community.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and Mentor : Provide technical and strategic leadership to Digital Engineering personnel across the company. Coach and develop a high-performing DE team and help grow DE talent across KODA.
  • Enterprise Best Practices : Establish / implement standardized DE methodologies, tools, and processes that align with industry best practices and KODA objectives.
  • Customer Engagement : Build / maintain strong relationships with customers to understand mission needs, market DE capabilities, and help shape program direction and technology adoption.
  • Business Development Support : Author and contribute to technical proposals and white papers. Collaborate with business development teams to articulate DE value to current and prospective clients.
  • Thought Leadership : Represent KODA in professional and technical organizations. Write and present technical papers / briefings at conferences, forums, and workshops.
  • External Partnerships : Develop and strengthen strategic partnerships with industry, academia, and government organizations to drive DE innovation and advance standards.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Systems Engineering, with a strong foundation in complex systems design, integration, and lifecycle management.
  • At least 8 years of experience in Digital Engineering (DE), i.e., implementation of model-based approaches / digital thread integration / organizational level DE strategy.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading people and technical teams, with demonstrated success in mentoring, performance management, and team development within engineering organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow DE competencies for an organization.
  • Proven track record in establishing and scaling DE best practices across an enterprise.
  • Strong familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools; systems modeling languages (e.g., SysML); and digital thread / digital twin concepts.
  • Strong experience in authoring and presenting technical papers, white papers, or conference presentations.
  • Proven record of growing a DE customer base through the delivery of exceptional products.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface confidently with internal teams, customers, external partners, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with government and / or industry customers.
  • Desired Qualifications :

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other complex system development environments.
  • Proficient with the No Magic / Cameo Systems Modeler tools.
  • Involvement in professional and standards organizations (e.g., INCOSE, NDIA, OMG).
  • Clearance :   Active Secret Clearance
