About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : 2 years in ER, 2 years in Med Surg

License : Active Compact or SD State License required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC

Must-Have :

• Critical Access Hospital experience preferred, but not required
• EPIC experience preferred
• Ability to performance typical RN procedures including, but not limited to, IV starts and foley catheter insertions

Description :

Registered Nurses work alongside another RN to care for patients in the emergency department and med / surg unit.

RNs are responsible for performing typical nursing procedures as required by the job.

The facility utilizes equipment including EPIC, Philips central monitor / telemetry, and Lifepak 15.

Staffing typically consists of 2 RNs and either a PCT or LPN as a third person.

Nurses may float between med / surg, outpatient, and emergency department.

Patient rooms number 10, with an average of 4 patients per day.

The nurse-to-patient ratio can vary based on census, averaging 1 : 2 or 1 : 3, and no more than 1 : 6.

Candidates are expected to work in the ER as well.

Additional certifications to cover the ER as charge nurse are preferred.
