ABOUT THE JOB :

  • Opportunity to work in a fast passed, aluminum architectural fabrication extrusion company.
  • We are looking for a Die Repairman to work in our extrusion department. Candidate must be a motivated self-starter, willing to work with little direction, comfortable with taking ownership of processes and procedures within their department. This position is ideal for an individual who has had some tooling experience, has strong analytical & problem-solving skills, with at least basic math background and the willingness to learn very sought-after skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Repair and preventative maintenance on production tooling and aluminum extrusion dies.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings regarding dimensional requirements and job specifications.
  • Working knowledge of nonferrous machining operations including vertical milling, drilling, saw operations and best industry practices.
  • Knowledge of metrology and use of measuring instruments pertaining to machined parts, calipers, micrometer, etc.

    • Salary dictated by union contract

  • 10 hour shift. Mon - Thurs 6 - 4 : 30. OT on Fridays.

    Requirements :

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :

  • High school graduate or GED Technical School graduate a plus
  • Independent worker
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and blue prints.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Will train the right candidate.
  • excellent communication skills written / oral
  • Experience in an extrusion metal or plastic (manufacturing) environment is a plus.

    • Ability to commute / relocate :

  • Hamden, CT : Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required). Relocation expenses are not covered.
