Commercial Lines Producer
The Commercial Lines Producer is responsible for selling new business to ensure continued profitable growth for the agency and duties include, but are not limited to, prospecting for new clients, selling additional coverages to existing clients, and retaining existing accounts to achieve personal production goals.
Essential functions include contacting prospects, scheduling appointments, and making sales presentations, developing prospecting programs and follow-up for maximum results, maintaining a prospect list of clients for the target business, balancing production to achieve the desired mix of business, coordinating production efforts with marketing and service staff, accurately and thoroughly completing survey and application forms, conducting periodic meetings with Account Managers to provide updates and ensure policies and procedures are understood, arranging payment terms for all accounts, gathering information on renewals, delivering renewals and / or binders following agency guidelines, remaining abreast of trends and techniques to maintain a competitive status for the company within the industry, attending sales seminars, company sales meetings, or educational activities needed to improve sales techniques, staying up-to-date on the latest developments in the marketplace, and maintaining required licenses. Qualifications include 3-5 years of sales experience, with proven sales success, demonstrating preferred, all licenses as required by the State Department of Insurance, college degree and CPCU, CIC, and ARM designations preferred. Working conditions include a fast-paced, multi-tasking, office environment with periodic high disruption and changing priorities, ability to perform approximately 80% sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and negligible force frequently, ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally, requires operation of a computer workstation, including keyboard and video display. All requirements may be modified to reasonably accommodate physical or mental impairment.
