Responsibilities Work in a hospital Float Pool supporting a med / surg unit with an emphasis on surgical specialty patients Provides care for pre- and post-surgical patients, including ENT and transplant cases Patient ratios are 5-6 : 1 for surgical patients and 3-4 : 1 for step down area Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week Care includes patients with new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, and NG / duodenal tubes No OR coverage; requires med / surg and step down experience Responsibilities include providing comprehensive care, monitoring patient responses, and administering medications and IV therapies Staff are expected to manage care plans, assist physicians, and communicate with patients' families Must be comfortable caring for patients with complex surgical needs such as new drains and wounds No local candidates accepted; must live outside a 50-mile radius First time travelers will not be considered for this position Orientation provided upon start Requirements Active OK RN license or multistate compact RN license Minimum of one year of acute care surgical floor experience required Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required Step down and travel nursing experience required Must have experience with post-operative and step down level care Good verbal and written communication skills required Must be able to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-632037.
