Job Summary :
This position is responsible for independently leading simultaneous IT projects from initiation to completion, ranging from technical infrastructure deployments / upgrades to large scale software deployments / upgrades. He / she will prepare and present business cases to senior management for large projects; manage and coordinate required project phase gates through required approvals; schedule, facilitate and document project meetings; maintain all related information and project artifacts via the project repository; support senior stakeholder management, engagement, alignment and active sponsorship critical for program success - including clearly communicating status, risks and remediation plans to executive stakeholders on a regular basis; resolve issues that arise across projects, keeping in mind impacts to the program timelines and to other programs / projects; coordinate work performed by various project resources including technical staff, internal customers, and partners; lead development of detailed project plans and project milestones working with network engineering, application development, business analysis, and business unit teams; align priorities to ensure delivery against assigned project(s) along with progress tracking, change control, and on-time delivery; ensure IT resources are clearly scheduled and available to meet project timelines; establish effective relationships through positive communication that motivates and influences others; develop user communications for project deployments / upgrades ; and track deliverables against project success criteria.
Requirements :
- BS / BA degree
- PMP or related PM certification
- 3-6 years’ experience of project management in broad technology and business areas
- Experience simultaneously managing multiple projects of different sizes
- Experience working on projects with geographically distributed teams and vendors
- Experience assisting junior PMs and working within a PMO framework
- Experience implementing software solution projects
Major Duties and Responsibilities :
Works independently to manage multiple projects with adherence to project management principles and processesIndependently leads and co-manages with other Project Managers and / or IT Managers IT projects with adherence to project management principles and processesHas overall responsibility for managing project scope, cost, schedule, and resources for all assigned projects, ensuring projects are completed on-time, on-scope and within budgetLeverages knowledge of NMS Labs’ systems, products, and servicesDevelops project plans that include all required artifacts, key milestones, and related checkpointsTracks project milestones and communicate impacts to project plans, resources and / or budget to all key stakeholdersIdentifies and manages open action items to closureIdentifies and escalates risks, issues and / or obstaclesEstablishes, implements, and continuously improves project management processes and methodologiesWorks in alignment with corporate Project Management Office to ensure consistent use of and to help improve planning and tracking tools across the organizationHelps prepare RFI / RFP / RFQ documents and analyzes proposals within a decision matrix documentCoaches and acts as a mentor to other IT and Business PMsAdministrative tasks including, but not limited to :Senior Management Level and Stakeholder communicationsScheduling, facilitating and documenting meetingsCreating and presenting project progressAuthoring, reviewing, editing and finalizing all deliverablesMaintaining all related information via the centralized project repositoryWeekly reporting for management regarding status of all projectsOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities :
