Overview
HDR is looking for a Water / Wastewater Professional Engineer with experience in utility planning using hydraulic modeling to join our team of Engineers, Scientists and Project Managers to support projects for HDR clients in North Carolina and South Carolina. This position may be based out of HDR offices in Greenville (SC), Raleigh, Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Asheville, or Wilmington (NC).
Responsibilities
- Develop and calibrate water and wastewater hydraulic models
- Perform GIS data analysis, alternatives analysis, preliminary engineering, cost analysis, and capital project development
- Interact with clients in project meetings and presentations
- Prepare reports and develop proposal scopes with level of effort estimates
- Lead project teams, mentoring and quality assurance / quality control for hydraulic modeling and master planning projects
Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent fieldProfessional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina or eligibility; licensed as recognized by the licensing board for the position location (e.g., PE or P.Eng)MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related fieldMinimum of 5 years of progressive experience in utility hydraulic modeling and infrastructure engineering designKnowledge and experience with wastewater collection system and / or water distribution system hydraulic modeling softwareProficiency in ArcGIS Pro, mapping and analysisExcellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a team environmentExperience leading teams, managing projects, and assisting with project budgetingExperience working with public, municipal, or investor-owned utilities or engineering consulting firms is beneficialExperience working with clients in North Carolina and South Carolina; local candidates preferredWhat We Offer
