- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards such as CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, and ensure the confidentiality of health information.
- Keep your work area organized and sanitary, restocking supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with the team lead for procurement of necessary departmental supplies.
- Perform a range of duties including specimen collection, receiving, and send-outs.
- Prepare specimens for referral to external labs and manage the associated documentation process.
- Carry out all patient specimen collections, including venipunctures, capillary collections, urine drug screens, and more.
- Ensure specimen integrity through adherence to collection requirements.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to foster a compassionate environment.
- Utilize the laboratory computer system for accurate documentation of specimen information and other tasks.
- Be flexible and take on additional responsibilities as needed, including standby / on-call duties and special projects.
- Participate in the completion of performance evaluations and competency assessments regularly.
Job Requirements : Education / Skills
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.Completion of a Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory, or Medical Assistant program with phlebotomy training is preferred.Proficient in medical terminology, computer data entry, and organizational skills.Experience
Preferred : One year of experience in phlebotomy.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) is preferred.Phlebotomy Tech (PBT) certification or state licensure is required in Louisiana.All associates are required to obtain necessary certifications within the designated time frame in accordance with company policies.
Work Schedule : 4 Days - 10 Hours
Work Type : Per Diem As Needed
