Job Title :  Litigation Paralegal

Location :  New Orleans, LA 70163

Salary / Payrate :  $60-80K

Work Environment :  Onsite - Parking options available nearby with pre-tax payroll deduction

Hours : 8 : 30 AM – 5 : 30 PM (40 hours / week)

Billable hour goal : 1,600 hours / year (135 / month)

Term :  Permanent / Fulltime

Referral Fee : AMS will pay $500 should the person you refer gets hired

Benefits available after 30 days (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA)

401(k) eligibility after 1 year, with employer match after 2 years

Trial prep and / or trial experience is REQUIRED

A well-established defense litigation and business law firm is seeking a skilled Litigation Paralegal to support multiple attorneys across civil, admiralty, insurance, and maritime litigation matters. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in managing both paper and electronic case files.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a high-volume litigation caseload from start to finish
  • Prepare pleadings, discovery requests / responses, subpoenas, and other legal documents
  • Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with court deadlines
  • Organize case files (both paper and electronic) using a document management system
  • Provide trial preparation and in-court support when needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of litigation paralegal experience (civil, insurance, admiralty, or maritime preferred)
  • Trial preparation and trial experience required
  • Paralegal certification preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and document management systems (iManage preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Demonstrated history of long-term employment preferred
