Overview
Appointment may be made at any rate within the salary range from $9,539 to $13,574 per month at which appropriately qualified applicants can be recruited. Administers, coordinates and oversees the development of the overall information technology (IT) processes and operations of the County of Maui; and performs other related duties as required.
Distinguishing Characteristics
This single position class is distinguished by its responsibility for developing the overall county technology vision and plan. The following are examples of duties and are not necessarily descriptive of any one position in this class. Training and Experience : A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in computer science, public or business administration and ten years of progressively responsible experience in information system development and implementation with emphasis in the area of business process re-engineering, five of which shall have been in an administrative capacity.
License Requirement : None
Knowledge of : principles and practices of public administration, organization and management; electronic data processing organization and operations; management requirements relative to data processing technology including teleprocessing, data base management, etc.; maintenance and development of systems software and infrastructure; current trends and available resources in the field of information technology; the operation, characteristics and capabilities of various types of electronic data processing equipment; report writing.
Ability to : plan, organize, direct and coordinate a large IT operation; formulate policies and procedures; evaluate operations and implement changes effectively; make sound evaluations, conclusion and recommendations; prepare clear and concise reports and correspondence; prepare and justify budget requests; establish and maintain effective relationship with manufacturers’ representatives, operating officials and others.
