Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring recent Level I trauma and travel experience, with a compact or TN RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a hospital Emergency Department within a Level I Trauma Center
  • Night shift position with 12-hour shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM
  • On-call and weekend shifts required as needed
  • Must be willing to work up to 48 hours per week
  • Floating to similar units or campuses within 20 miles may be required
  • Cerner EMR used, experience preferred
  • Patient population includes acute and trauma cases typical of a large urban ED
  • Directly manage care for a diverse mix of emergency and trauma patients
  • Must be willing to work a minimum of two of three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) if included in assignment
  • Floating between similar units or nearby campuses is rare but possible
  • First-time travelers are not accepted unless they have over 3 years of recent ER experience
  • RTO must be provided at time of consideration; additions will not be accepted later
  • Former employees must be separated from prior employment for at least one year before being eligible as a traveler

  • Active TN or compact RN license in hand (NLC guideline compliance required)
  • At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience, with 3 years preferred
  • At least 1 completed previous travel assignment required
  • Recent Level I trauma center experience required
  • Valid driver’s license required at time of consideration
  • ADN or higher in nursing; BSN not required for this unit
  • Certifications must be valid for the entire contract; plan to renew certifications if expiring
  • Must live at least 100 miles from the facility (strict local radius rule)
  • No pending licenses accepted
