Job descriptionApple Ridge / Gaithersburg – Montgomery Village & surrounding areas Darnestown – Route 28, near Gaithersburg & Germantown North Potomac – Route 28 & Muddy Branch Road Greenwood / Hyattsville – NAEYC‑accredited private school, next to PG Plaza (Metro Accessible) Teach music to children ages 3‑5 at various campuses using our age‑appropriate curriculum Maintain a consistent schedule of classroom visits in coordination with the campus director Utilize the music curriculum and developmentally appropriate activities to provide engaging instruction to assigned age groups Differiate instruction as needed to maximize participation for all children Provide a written summary of music instruction for families in weekly campus communications Supervise preschool children to ensure health, welfare, and safety of all students Support the physical, socio‑emotional, and developmental needs of each child in the classroom Demonstrate effective communication skills and positive interpersonal relations with children, families, and colleagues Collaborate with Georgetown Hill’s music instructors and specialists to plan activities, share ideas, problem‑solve, and improve the program Maintain a safe, positive classroom environment for all students and staff Attend monthly meetings to report progress, collaborate, and discuss observations and ideas MSDE 90‑hour Preschool Certification or CDA with Preschool endorsement Proficiency in at least one instrument Comfortable singing in front of groups of children and teachers Ability to manage the physical demands of a preschool setting (e.g., sitting on the floor, lifting up to 40 lb) MSDE 90‑hour certification or CDA with Preschool endorsement preferred Reliable transportation (local travel required) Understanding of child development principles and teaching methods Proficient technological skills to utilize productivity tools Warm, friendly, and cool‑tempered demeanor Extremely reliable in attendance and punctuality Organized, able to prioritize, and multitask Team‑oriented and willing to collaborate with others 25–30 USD – Greenwood 25–30 USD – Apple Ridge 25–30 USD – North Potomac 25–30 USD – Darnestown
About the role
We are hiring qualified Music Specialists to offer enrichment programming to preschool students across several campuses in Montgomery County, MD.
This role is part‑time—Mon‑Fri, 9 : 30 am‑1 : 00 pm—with the option to become full‑time. The Music Specialist will travel to multiple Georgetown Hill locations; reliable local transportation is required.

Qualifications
Minimum credentials for Music Specialists in our preschool program :
Ideal candidates will have 1‑3 years of experience teaching music to preschool children and the following credentials and skills :
All applicants must submit to and successfully pass a state and federal background check. Applicants for federal center campuses must receive GSA‑security clearance through a government background screening.
