We are hiring qualified Music Specialists to offer enrichment programming to preschool students across several campuses in Montgomery County, MD.
This role is part‑time—Mon‑Fri, 9 : 30 am‑1 : 00 pm—with the option to become full‑time. The Music Specialist will travel to multiple Georgetown Hill locations; reliable local transportation is required.

Teach music to children ages 3‑5 at various campuses using our age‑appropriate curriculumMaintain a consistent schedule of classroom visits in coordination with the campus directorUtilize the music curriculum and developmentally appropriate activities to provide engaging instruction to assigned age groupsDifferiate instruction as needed to maximize participation for all childrenProvide a written summary of music instruction for families in weekly campus communicationsSupervise preschool children to ensure health, welfare, and safety of all studentsSupport the physical, socio‑emotional, and developmental needs of each child in the classroomDemonstrate effective communication skills and positive interpersonal relations with children, families, and colleaguesCollaborate with Georgetown Hill’s music instructors and specialists to plan activities, share ideas, problem‑solve, and improve the programMaintain a safe, positive classroom environment for all students and staffAttend monthly meetings to report progress, collaborate, and discuss observations and ideasQualifications
Minimum credentials for Music Specialists in our preschool program :
MSDE 90‑hour Preschool Certification or CDA with Preschool endorsementIdeal candidates will have 1‑3 years of experience teaching music to preschool children and the following credentials and skills :
Proficiency in at least one instrumentComfortable singing in front of groups of children and teachersAbility to manage the physical demands of a preschool setting (e.g., sitting on the floor, lifting up to 40 lb)MSDE 90‑hour certification or CDA with Preschool endorsement preferredReliable transportation (local travel required)Understanding of child development principles and teaching methodsProficient technological skills to utilize productivity toolsWarm, friendly, and cool‑tempered demeanorExtremely reliable in attendance and punctualityOrganized, able to prioritize, and multitaskTeam‑oriented and willing to collaborate with othersAll applicants must submit to and successfully pass a state and federal background check. Applicants for federal center campuses must receive GSA‑security clearance through a government background screening.
