- Execute structured cabling tasks using fiber optic (LC / MPO / MTP) and copper (Cat6 / Cat6a) media, ensuring accurate port mapping, cable labeling, and adherence to TIA / EIA and ANSI standards.
- Test, validate, and troubleshoot MPO / MTP fiber connections, including endface inspection, polarity (Type A, B, C) verification, continuity, and insertion loss using appropriate diagnostic tools (e.g., MPO polarity testers, VFL, OTDR, and power meters). They will have to make changes to polarity

May need to show other techs how to do the job, shouldn’t be too lower level
Open to industry as long as they know how to do the work.
Preferred to have, but not required : Dell power edge servers, HP gen10 servers, netapp storage
Additional notes from client call :
Senior level data center technician, someone who was doing the job for 5-10 years. Day to day data center activities, know how to do troubleshooting, do installs, potentially set up servers, go into a server to do some troubleshooting, do lifecycle management.
How do you troubleshoot a fiber connectivity type issue?
How do you know which fiber is a transmit vs a received?
Why do you have link on one side and not the other, how do you go about resolving it?
Understand layer 1 troubleshooting from the connectivity server issues. They are able to communicate well and explain how things are done.Explain to me what is going on and how to resolve it.Should have worked with Dell and HP servers specifically in the past, not just rack and stackConfigure the servers, look at logs in the servers, see if there are any alarms, should be able to use those tools to assist their troubleshooting.Bonus if they have experience with NetApp, any experienceMPO - Should be able to be capable of knowing if the polarity is wrong. You have a single plug in, polarity is which direction the transmit is going. They need to understand gender as well.
