18X Special Forces Candidate Job Description

As a Special Forces Candidate, you'll embark on an elite training journey to become a Green Beret, one of the most skilled warriors in the world.

To join this esteemed group, you must complete rigorous mental and physical training. The Army will assess your background, aptitude, and skills to decide which Military Occupational Specialty is best suited for you.

Requirements

You must be a U.S. citizen.

You should hold a High School Diploma or equivalent.

You must meet the Army's Tattoo Guidelines.

You should have no Major Law Violations on your record.

You should be free from any Medical Concerns.

You must be 18 years old by ship date and not have turned 32 prior to leaving.

Training and Certification

You'll undergo 22 weeks of Infantry One Station Unit Training.

You'll participate in a 4-week Special Operations Forces Preparation Course and the Special Forces Assessment & Selection Course, following Airborne School.

You'll need to achieve an ASVAB Score of 110 in General Technical (GT).

You'll also need to achieve an ASVAB Score of 100 in Combat (CO).

Evasion techniques.

Development of Physical and Mental Strength.

Proficiency in Weapons Operations.
