Finance Intern
Support the development of short-term and medium-term cash forecasts for liquidity planning purposes. Leverage established methods and technology to assist in preparing reports on the company's debt portfolio. Assist in daily cash positioning and execution of borrowings. Prepare and collaborate on a cross-functional project with the opportunity to present to the SJI Executive Leadership Team. Regular meetings with assigned mentor and various organizational leaders to discuss goals and professional development.
Working with attorneys and paralegals, as well as outside counsel on legal matters covering corporate law, governance, litigation, employment and labor law, utility and construction, and mergers and acquisitions. Conduct legal research and analysis in areas relevant to the company's business operations and Board of Directors. Attend hearings and prepare summary reports. Assist with contracts administration and maintaining general document workflow. Assist with litigation discovery. Prepare, review and revise internal company policies with key business stakeholders. Prepare and collaborate on a cross-functional project with the opportunity to present to the SJI Executive Leadership Team. Regular meetings with assigned mentor and various organizational leaders to discuss goals and professional development.
Availability to work a hybrid schedule based out of our Folsom, NJ, Monday through Friday during daytime business hours. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple priorities. Capable of handling sensitive / confidential information in a professional manner. Good judgment and strong communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
Fundamental knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally. Comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, including extended hours when needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Self-starter with high energy, motivation, and a desire to contribute innovative ideas. Availability to work a hybrid schedule based out of our Folsom, NJ office, Monday through Friday during daytime business hours.
Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or similar, with a graduation date of Fall 2026 or later. The ideal candidate would be a rising Junior, Senior, or Master's student, however all students are welcome for consideration.
