Chief Of Safety Training
The Chief Of Safety Training will be responsible for leading a team of Safety Instructors conducting training on all shifts to provide world class safety training at Electric Boat. They will be expected to work with all levels of management across all sites as well as the pipeline training programs to ensure alignment and continuous incorporation of lessons learned.
This position will oversee all Safety Training at General Dynamics Electric Boat. They will be responsible for the overall strategy of Safety Training at EB and partner facilities. With direct oversight of OSHA instruction and partnering with the delivery teams, they will ensure EB is exceeding all required safety training standards and that EB's safety philosophy is embedded in the training programs. Continuity and effectiveness of the safety training courses and programs will be a focus for this role working continuously to create a safer environment for safer employees.
Responsibilities of this position include :
- Lead the Safety Training strategy for EB
- Oversee Safety Training program across EB sites and partner locations to ensure compliance, continuity, and effectiveness
- Partner closely with Safety Department to ensure training is meeting their intent and needs
- Partner with stakeholders across the company to ensure their employees are provided the required safety training
- Lead dedicated safety instructor(s)
- Partner with Curriculum Development team to ensure curriculum meets OSHA and EB safety requirements
- Partner with Training Delivery entities to ensure enterprise instructors are teaching their safety focused content in the most effective manner
- Surveil classes and programs and make improvements
- Ensure safety training programs are impactful and cohesive, resulting in a safer workforce
- Implement new safety training programs as needed
- Research and be in tune with safety training best practices within the industry
Qualifications
Required :
High School Diploma or GED4+ years of working within a safety department or where work was primarily focused around safe work implementations1+ year of experience conducting training or working within a training organization3+ years of demonstrated experience overseeing project execution, including directing multi-discipline teams (project management)Preferred :
BA or BS degreeBoard of Certified Safety Professionals Certification - Associate Safety Professional or aboveExperience implementing enterprise safety programsExperience as a Safety Instructor or Curriculum Development of safety coursesLean Six Sigma or Continuous Process Improvement certificationExperience in Pipeline trainingExperience with QP TrainingSkills
