Position Summary
The Vice Chair of Faculty Affairs will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for faculty development, engagement, and advancement across the Department of Emergency Medicine.
This individual will partner closely with the Department Chair , other Vice Chairs (Education, Research & Innovation), and UVA Health leadership to foster a thriving, collaborative, and equitable environment for faculty success at all ranks and across clinical, research, and educational missions.
The Vice Chair will serve as a key advisor to the Chair on faculty-related policies , oversee faculty appointment and promotion processes, champion well-being and recognition initiatives, and ensure alignment with School of Medicine and UVA Health priorities.

About the Department of Emergency Medicine
The UVA Department of Emergency Medicine is a nationally recognized leader in clinical care, education, and research. The department’s faculty care for more than 75,000 patients annually across UVA Health’s academic emergency department and regional sites.
