Adult Protective Services (APS) Assessor - Region 5 : Central Indiana

Summary :

SSO is hiring Assessors to support the State of Indiana Family & Social Services Administration. This role will Investigate allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation involving endangered adults.

This role does require on-site investigations. Travel may be required within the following counties : Boone, Hamilton, Hendricks, Marion, Montgomery, Howard, Tipton, Clinton

Responsibilities :

Investigate allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation involving endangered adults

Conduct thorough investigations, including interviews, record reviews, and collaboration with other investigative agencies

Initiate and facilitate referrals to services and community resources

Document investigation activities, including case planning, safety planning, case notes, and findings

Serve as the Priority A (within 24 hours of receipt) responder to initiatetimely contact with clients facing immediate harm on a rotating basis

Respond to all assigned investigations within the required timeframe

Review and respond to quality assurance evaluations

Skills and Qualifications :

Ability to think critically, incorporating multiple factors into larger concepts

Strong organizational skills with abilities to simultaneously manage multiple investigations

Ability to work with and relate to others with customer relation techniques, professionalism, and respect for other cultures

Ability to effectively use active listening and interviewing skills

Ability to adapt quickly when policies and regulations change

Must be computer literate and have MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet skills

Ability to foster teamwork with all levels of management and staff

Ability to work well independently and within a team

Superior verbal and written communication skills

Strong decision-making skills, with accuracy and attention to detail

1+ years of experience with adult protective services, investigatory, social services, human services, or law enforcement work

Education :

Bachelor’s degree preferred

The usual work schedule is full-time : Monday through Friday. Though this role is virtual, you are expected to have local travel up to 50% of the time.

Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, SSO provides a range of benefits for this role.

Under the federal laws relating to the F-1 STEM EAD program, SSO may be able to support a STEM EAD extension application at the sole discretion of your Designated School Official.
