Description

The Peer Recovery Specialist is responsible for the development of a Peer Recovery Network for youth / young adults. This position will outreach and coordinate existing recovery services and develop other necessary strength-based supports needed to promote successful recovery. This employee will ensure compliance with safe work practices and maintain safe environments in compliance with established agency standards, licensing regulations and generally accepted practices.

Research other successful youth peer recovery networks.

B. Outreach to peer recovery networks to learn about supports necessary to promote successful recovery.

C. Outreach to local peer recovery providers to coordinate efforts.

D. Become a certified Recovery Coach.

E. Arrange local Recovery Coach Training and promote certification process.

F. Arrange and participate in public speaking engagements to promote awareness and accessibility of recovery services.

G. Assist with tracking and reporting performance measures.

H. Complete necessary documentation and grant reporting.

I. Assist with transportation to improve accessibility of recovery services.

J. Assist with applications for private funding to support recovery efforts.

K Attend necessary treatment team and community meetings.

  • Assist consumers in accessing benefits.

Other duties as assigned.

  • A Bachelors Degree in a Human Service Related Field (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology Education or Criminal Justice) preferred.
  • Previous experience working with recovery community.
  • Experience in program development preferred.
  • Experience with public presentations and marketing preferred.
  • Good writing and communication skills.
  • Valid Drivers License required.
  • Qualifications
