Job description

We are currently seeking a Desktop Support Engineer. Candidates must be a United States Citizen. Interviews may be conducted either via Microsoft Teams video or in person in Frankfort, KY. The selected candidate is expected to work primarily in an office setting, with occasional work from home.

Base pay range

$22.71 / hr - $27.71 / hr

We are seeking an individual to work as a Desktop Support Engineer for our client's Information Technology Branch's Field Support Section.

Hours :

  • 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm EDT. Requires physical work on equipment at our client's central IT location and remote locations around Kentucky. Travel away from Frankfort will be necessary; a client IT Pool vehicle will be provided. Overnight travel accommodations will be provided by our client.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Administer client's Desktops, Notebooks, and Mobile Data Terminals and accompanying equipment.
  • Provide hardware and software support, including specialized law enforcement software and devices.
  • Assist with IT equipment in client cruisers.
  • Work with vendors for support on workstation issues.
  • Coordinate with Tier 1 and Tier 3 personnel on support issues.
  • Use the IT ticket system.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned or needed.

    • Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :

  • Support Windows desktop OS and client hardware and software, including Office 365.
  • Work effectively in a team atmosphere.
  • Create technical documentation.
  • Provide Tier 2 support to other IT personnel.
  • Receive and retain new training.
  • Be professional and courteous.
