Registered Nurse - Operating Room (Day Shift)

Location : Watertown, NY, 13601

Duration : 13-weeks contract

Shift : 8-hr Day

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week

Weekly Pay Rate : $2,400 $2,680; (Negotiable based on experience)

Position Summary :

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The RN is responsible for patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring adherence to hospital policies, standards of care, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide direct patient care in the perioperative setting, ensuring a safe and aseptic environment.
• Assist surgeons during procedures by anticipating instrument and equipment needs.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Collaborate effectively with the surgical team, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Monitor patient status intraoperatively and recognize / respond to any changes.
• Ensure proper handling and sterilization of instruments and supplies.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
• Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends and holidays.
• May serve as a Charge Nurse when required, overseeing staff assignments and workflow.

Qualifications :

BLS (Basic Life Support) Required

Minimum of one year of medical / surgical experience preferred.

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
