American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 1 Emergency Department position in Illinois requiring active IL RN license and key specialties in critical care.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care, Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department65-bed unit with all private rooms, including 2 trauma baysTreats a full spectrum of patients from newborns to the elderly with both minor and critically ill cases, including cardiac arrests, strokes, heart attacks, and traumaNurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1 : 3-5 depending on acuityAssigned to three 12-hour day shifts (7a-7p) per week with rotating weekends and holidaysUtilizes Epic EMR and Phillips cardiac monitorsTravelers may assist with stabilized trauma patients after transfer from trauma bayOn rare occasions, may float as a 'help all' to other units but not as a primary nurseED techs, respiratory therapists, monitor tech, and charge nurses provide team supportResponsibilities include care for critically ill and stabilized trauma patients, lab draws, and rhythm interpretationCharge nurses, house supervisors, and ED techs provide additional support; nurse does not self-scheduleHoliday and weekend coverage is required, schedule negotiable within departmental needsBlock scheduling and time off requests are considered based on approvalNo specific scrub color required; tasteful scrubs with solid undershirts allowedLocal candidates accepted, with adjusted local rates for those residing within 50 milesNo call or standby requirements for travelers\n \n Requirements\n
Active IL RN license required at time of considerationMinimum of 2 years recent RN experience, emergency department experience preferredRequired certifications : ACLS, BLS, TNCC (or TNS), PALS (or ENPC)Proficiency in titrating vasopressor, cardiac, antihypertensive drips, and cardiac rhythm interpretationEpic charting experience preferred but not requiredSANE RN experience and prior assignment in teaching hospital environment preferredCOVID-19 vaccination is not required\n Benefits\n
