Overview

General Maintenance Associate at The Home Depot performs maintenance related functions in a complex, warehouse environment, and oversees, maintains, and repairs building support systems to support warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

  • 50% - Facility Maintenance : Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building support systems. Complete equipment status reports and manage work orders in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • 30% - Operations Support : Perform maintenance related tasks to support warehouse operations, including Material Handling Equipment (MHE) battery service, 5S management, and HAZMAT processing.
  • 10% - Safety Compliance : Support safety initiatives related to maintenance activities and warehouse operations.
  • 10% - Working Environment : Maintain a safe and clean working environment and perform daily cleanup of work areas.

  • Typically reports to the Maintenance Supervisor

    • Travel Requirements

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.

    • Physical Requirements

  • Requires intermittent physical exertion (walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting) including heavy or awkward materials or equipment.

    • Working Conditions

  • Typically in a comfortable environment but with exposure to temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes that may cause discomfort or moderate risk of incident or illness.

    • Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings and holidays.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in general building repair tasks (drywall, paint, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems)
