Job Description
LRS has prospered for over 30 years because our corporate philosophy embraces honest, ethical and hard-working people. If that describes your approach to IT consulting, we need to talk! LRS Consulting Services is seeking a UX Designer & Researcher for a long-term, hybrid onsite contract opportunity with our client in the west suburbs of Chicago, IL!
LRS Consulting Services has been delivering the highest quality consultants to our clients since 1979. We've built a solid reputation for dealing with our clients and our consultants with honesty, integrity, and respect. We work hard every day to maintain that reputation, and we're very interested in candidates who can help us. If you're that candidate, this opportunity is made for you!
Responsibilities :
Collaborate closely with the existing UX designer as well as work independently to develop and evolve design systems, component libraries, and visual standards.
Create high-quality design deliverables in Figma - including user flows, wireframes, prototypes, icons, and layouts that marry colors, typography, and styles into cohesive visual systems.
Establish, organize, and restructure the design library to drive brand and UX consistency across digital products.
Conduct heuristic evaluations, usability testing, and field analysis to uncover pain points and improvement opportunities.
Design and execute user research plans (interviews, surveys, task analysis) to validate and inform UX decisions.
Translate research insights into actionable personas, user journeys, and design improvements.
Partner with business owners and IT teams to communicate research findings and design rationale, influencing user-centered product decisions.
Apply accessibility and inclusive design best practices (WCAG) to ensure experiences meet diverse user needs.
Monitor post-launch metrics and feedback to validate design outcomes and identify next-stage enhancements.
Contribute to raising overall UX maturity across both member-facing portals and internal applications.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
3+ years of experience in UX / UI design and research, with a strong balance between visual design and user research execution.
Strong proficiency in Figma - capable of creating design artifacts from concept to polished, production-ready visuals.
Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret qualitative user research, usability studies, and heuristic evaluations.
Experience building and maintaining design libraries and visual systems (color palettes, components, typography, and interaction patterns).
Solid understanding of accessibility (WCAG) and inclusive design principles.
Strong communication and presentation skills - able to translate complex research and design concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-UX stakeholders.
Proven ability to work independently within a collaborative, lean environment.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a high attention to detail.
Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the USA for any employer.
Corp to Corp candidates will not be considered.
