This role requires proficiency in circulating for complex procedures in a fast-paced, Level I trauma center environment. The ideal candidate will be versatile, detail-oriented, and skilled in managing the intraoperative care of patients undergoing diverse surgical interventions. Minimum Requirements & Qualifications Licensure : Active Registered Nurse (RN) license. Experience : Minimum of 2 years of recent Operating Room experience with strong background in cardiac, neuro, thoracic, ortho, and vascular surgery . Certifications : BLS and ACLS are typically required. CNOR certification is preferred. Technical Skills : Experience with Epic electronic medical record system is required. Travel Policy : No local candidates within the facility's defined ineligible counties. Key Responsibilities Function as circulator for complex surgical procedures across multiple specialties including cardiac, neurosurgery, thoracic, orthopedic, and vascular cases. Prepare operating rooms with appropriate instrumentation, equipment, and supplies specific to each surgical procedure. Perform comprehensive patient assessments and verify surgical sites following established protocols. Maintain strict sterile technique and monitor the surgical field throughout procedures. Administer medications and blood products as ordered during surgical procedures. Coordinate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other team members. Manage surgical specimens according to established protocols. Document accurately in the electronic medical record throughout the perioperative process. Unit & Patient Population Details Surgical Specialties : Cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, thoracic surgery, orthopedic surgery, vascular surgery, and general surgery. Clinical Focus : Intraoperative patient care, sterile technique, surgical safety protocols, and emergency preparedness. Care Environment : Level I Trauma Center with state-of-the-art operating rooms supporting complex surgical services. Procedure Types : Open heart surgery, craniotomies, spinal procedures, joint replacements, trauma surgeries, and minimally invasive procedures. Technology : Advanced surgical instrumentation, robotic surgery systems, intraoperative imaging, and specialized monitoring equipment. Team Structure : Collaborative environment working with surgical technologists, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary surgical teams.
