Head of Quality

Summary / Objective

Provide strategic leadership and structure to the organizations Quality function by ensuring compliant, efficient, and sustainable processes, programs, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality function and management systems.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory and certification requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, 21 CFR 111 / 117, GMP, NSF, ISO).

Oversee quality systems, documentation, and CAPA processes for non-conformances.

Manage and prioritize Quality projects to meet business and customer objectives.

Collaborate cross-functionally to drive process improvements and ensure alignment with company goals.

Develop and track KPIs to monitor quality performance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Serve as Subject Matter Expert and liaison for regulatory, certification, and customer audits.

Coach and develop team members to support business growth and scalability.

Promote a culture of compliance, safety, and quality excellence across all departments.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education & Experience

Bachelors degree in Quality, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience in manufacturing within a regulated environment (pharmaceuticals, supplements, food, or beverage preferred).

Strong background in Quality Systems Management and regulatory programs under FDA 21 CFR.

Experience managing certifications such as GMP, NSF / GFSI, Organic, Kosher, Halal, or similar.

Excellent communication, leadership, and technical writing skills.

Preferred

10+ years of Quality experience in the health, wellness, or food industry.

Familiarity with powder handling and international quality registrations.

Certifications

Quality-related credentials such as GMP, NSF, SQF, ISO, CQA, or PCQI preferred.
