POSITION OVERVIEW
The Licensed Practical Nurse assesses the health needs of the neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, develops and implements plans to meet the needs under the supervision of a RN. Some of the major job functions include but are not limited to :
Assessing, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care for the adult and neonate under the supervision of an RN.
Maintain and improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve. Provide accessible, high quality health care services through the efficient use of resources. Comprehensive services are chosen with the needs and best care, competence, compassion and courtesy.

REQUIREMENTS
Education :
Completion of a nursing program as approved by the State Board of Nursing
Experience :
Six months experience in area of specialty
Knowledge, skills and abilities required :
Ability to perform basic nursing skills on various patient populations per unit policy
Ability to multitask and prioritize quickly
Ability to administer medication utilizing the five rights
Ability to communicate verbally and in written form
Ability to work on another unit
Basic computer knowledge
Licensure / Certification
License Practical Nurse with a current licensure in Commonwealth of Virginia
Certified in AHA BLS Healthcare Providers required
NRP certification required within 6 months of hire, if applicable to your department
Basic Fetal Monitoring required within 6 months of hire, if applicable to your department
