- Keep your work area organized and sanitary, restocking supplies as necessary.
- Assist in procuring departmental supplies in collaboration with the team lead.
- Perform a variety of specimen collections including venipuncture, capillary collections, and urine drug screens.
- Prepare specimens for outside lab referrals and manage related administrative tasks.
- Maintain specimen integrity by adhering to collection requirements.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills while interacting with patients, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Utilize the laboratory computer system for documentation tasks including patient registration and order entry.
- Engage in other duties as assigned, such as inventory management, special projects, and cross-training opportunities.
- Complete performance evaluations and competency assessments in a timely manner.
Job Requirements : Education / Skills
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.Completion of a Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory, or Medical Assistant program preferred.Knowledge of medical terminology, data entry, and strong organizational skills are essential.Experience
Preferred : At least one year of phlebotomy experience.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Preferred : Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification.If in Louisiana, Phlebotomy Tech (PBT) certification or state licensure is preferred.All Associates must comply with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification, and Registration Verification Policy to obtain the necessary certifications within the designated timeframe.
