Overview
Music Teacher Assistant - 11-146- SC / Tustin at Salvation Army ARC. This role supports the music education team at Freer Forte Music School and assists teachers to ensure smooth operation of the classroom environment.
Base pay range
$23.00 / hr - $23.00 / hr
Essential Functions
- Classroom Setup : Assist teachers in preparing classrooms for lessons, including arranging seating, distributing materials, and ensuring equipment is ready for use.
- Administrative Support : Help teachers with tasks such as making photocopies, preparing lesson materials, and organizing student files or music sheets.
- Student Support : Escort students to and from the restroom and assist with other basic needs during class hours.
- Parent Interaction : Greet parents as they arrive for class, provide general information, and direct them as needed.
- Classroom Monitoring : Walk between classrooms during class sessions to ensure everything runs smoothly and address immediate needs or disruptions.
- Additional Tasks : Assist with any other duties as assigned by the lead teacher or school director to support the day’s classes.
Working Conditions
Ability to sit for long periods of time with breaks, and to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files and file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer and telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
Interest in music and education.Experience working with children is preferred.Demonstrate practical and theoretical knowledge of music performance and teaching. Communicate instrumental and vocal techniques to students in a positive learning environment.A criminal background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures.Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
