SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented senior systems engineer to support our programs delivering Next-Generation Missile Warning software. This is a unique opportunity to join a small business delivering core capabilities for national defense. You will work within a team delivering end-to-end software processing of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor data for missile warning. Candidates will develop and implement model-based systems engineering processes in support of the Agile software development program. SciTec seeks a candidate who will thrive in an environment where they can solve challenging engineering problems in support of critical national security objectives.

Responsibilities

Implementing systems engineering processes aligned with IEEE 15288.

Designing and modeling architectures for data processing systems.

Developing artifacts using Model Based Systems Engineering.

Mentoring other SciTec staff in systems engineering processes and methodologies.

Communicating professionally and effectively between customer representatives, program managers, software developers, and other members of the systems engineering team.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in physical sciences, mathematics, engineering (including systems engineering), or computer science

Minimum 4 years of professional experience in engineering, computer science, remote sensing, aerospace, or defense

Minimum 2 years of professional experience specifically in systems engineering

Two (2) years of experience specifically with MBSE and modeling

Two (2) years of experience developing system / software requirements

Good verbal and written communication skills

Candidates who have one or more of the following skills will be preferred

Domain experience with remote sensor systems or software architecture, especially experience with OPIR sensor processing

Experience supporting systems engineering programs in the defense and aerospace fields

Experience supporting prototypes transformation into production level engineering solutions

Additional professional experience in systems engineering beyond 2 years

Familiarity with the Cameo family of tools, specifically Cameo Systems Modeler

Experience with Agile software development methods

Demonstrated experience in program management and project leadership

Familiarity with the Earned Value Management System

Graduate degrees or coursework in Systems Engineering or related fields

An active SECRET DoD security clearance or higher

The pay range for this position is $117,000 - $168,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education / training, and key skills.
