Job description

Associate Relationship Manager, Gaming & Leisure, Corporate Banking

This position is for an associate relationship manager focused on developing and servicing relationships with commercial clients in the Gaming & Leisure group, a specialty team within Capital One Bank's Corporate Banking division. This role supports the group manager and senior relationship managers in creating value-add pitchbooks, supporting credit approvals, analyzing financials, completing pre-screen deal memos, managing prospecting databases and servicing customer relationships as a secondary relationship manager. Banker will also assist in data / industry research, analysis and reporting, and assist with special industry-related projects from time to time.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist senior Relationship Managers (RMs) in the preparation of customer presentations and term sheets, as well as manage the pipeline activity for sales reps and managers
  • Create client pitchbooks and craft various financing views (structure and pricing) from scratch with limited senior banker involvement
  • Complete pre-screen deal memos including analysis of industry and company financial condition, application of pricing models and evaluations of the viability and profitability of the opportunity
  • Ownership of prescreens for credit approval and direct involvement throughout credit approval process including working directly with the client to answer questions from credit and receive all necessary documentation for closing
  • Partner with internal stakeholders including Capital Markets, Underwriting, Credit Risk, Commercial Client Service and Support and Treasury Management to provide seamless execution and an exemplary customer experience
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to collect all necessary compliance-related materials and non-credit diligence information
  • Data Driven Prospecting :
  • Utilizing key company and capital structure metrics from multiple sources to create fully comprehensive and up to date prospect universe
  • Identifying most actionable prospects and applicable calling strategies
  • Mine Salesforce.com and outside databases to keep data current, and to identify and prioritize prospects and their key decision-makers
  • Participate in business development networking activities

Basic Qualifications :

  • A Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in corporate banking
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Completion of a formal commercial credit training program
  • At least 5 years of experience in Corporate Sales and / or Risk Management
  • Highly proficient in MS Office (Excel & PowerPoint), Salesforce.com
  • The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

    Chicago, IL : $144,000 - $164,400 for MMB Specialty Relationship Mgr II

    New York, NY : $172,800 - $197,200 for MMB Specialty Relationship Mgr II

    Plano, TX : $144,000 - $164,400 for MMB Specialty Relationship Mgr II

    Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

    This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and / or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
