Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse - Full Time

Summary :

The skilled Registered Nurse (RN) operates independently in a dynamic surgical oncology setting, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of patient care. This role involves delivering both routine and complex nursing interventions, maintaining focus on long-term health goals, and adapting effectively to clinical challenges. The RN will also delegate appropriately to optimize patient care.

Responsibilities :

• Fulfill the expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies : Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provide nursing care in alignment with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to the practice level.
• Administer medications and treatments per established protocols, monitoring for side effects and the effectiveness of prescribed care.
• Document pertinent patient history, symptoms, medications, and care delivered.
• Assess patient and family learning needs, offering education and support while identifying issues and available resources.

Job Requirements : Education / Skills :

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.

Experience :

At least 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications :

BLS certification is required.

RN License in the state of employment or a compact license is required.

Work Schedule : 7 AM to 7 PM
