Grant Accountant needed for our nonprofit client in Baltimore City. The Grant Accountant will manage budget, balance the general ledger, account reconciliations, accounts payable and receivables. Three month contract position working full time hours transitioning to working as needed. The non-negotiable pay rate is $29.00 per hour.
Essential Duties :
- Maintain accurate financial records by recording all transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
- Utilize accounting software to enter and track financial data, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate.
- Communicate with clients and vendors to resolve any discrepancies or issues with transactions.
- Prepare and file tax returns and maintain compliance with all financial regulations.
- Monitor cash flow and manage budgeting to ensure the company's financial stability.
- Organize and maintain physical and digital records for auditing purposes.
- Completion of timely and accurate monthly close process and financial reporting, including class reporting, job-costing, analysis of account categories and defining trends.
- Provide oversight of grants by monitoring grant activity, including reviewing expenditures, appropriate recording of expenses to the general ledger, and appropriate recording of staff salary to grants.
- Manage all aspects of the accounts receivable process, including unbilled revenue, deferred income, and bad debt allowances.
- Manage all aspects of the accounts payable process, including vendor bills, and online payments.
- Prepare cash management flash report.
- Responsible for fixed asset and intangible asset management, including maintaining depreciation and amortization schedules and posting related journal entries for acquisitions and disposals.
- Support management with gathering documentation for budgets, forecasts and annual audits.
Qualifications :
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.Five plus years of bookkeeping experience, preferably at a senior level.High level of accuracy and attention to detail.Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.Ability to work well in a small, collaborative, flexible work environment is required.Must be able to initially working between the hours of 9 : 00 am and 5 : 00 pm Monday through Friday for the first half of the position then transition to as needed support. Hybrid schedule will consist of at least two to three days working on site and the rest from home.Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.We offer weekly pay, sick pay hours, health insurance, referral
