Wright Technical Services is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controls Engineer to join a dynamic controls team at one of our top machine builder clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical design, PLC programming, and expertise in industrial robotics. This role requires a proactive individual who is open to traveling and working onsite at various manufacturing facilities during equipment installations.
Responsibilities :
- Design and develop electrical control systems for automated machinery in alignment with client specifications and industry standards.
- Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs to enhance machine performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the engineering team and clients to gather requirements, understand operational needs, and propose technical solutions.
- Integrate and program industrial robots for automation processes, ensuring seamless operation with other machinery.
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of control systems to ensure reliability and compliance with safety standards.
- Provide onsite support during equipment installations, ensuring proper integration and functionality.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation including electrical schematics, program code, and installation manuals.
- Train and support customers and internal staff on control systems operation and maintenance.
- Travel to client sites as necessary to oversee installations, conduct tests, and troubleshoot issues.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Automation, or a related field preferred.3 + years of experience in electrical design and controls engineering, preferably in machine building or manufacturing environments.Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text) and experience with platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Mitsubishi.Familiarity with industrial robotics and programming, including popular brands like FANUC, ABB, or KUKA.Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.Willingness to travel frequently and work at manufacturing sites for extended periods during equipment installations.Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to manufacturing and automation systems.
