Job description

Job Title : Senior Project Engineer – Infrastructure

Location : Remote

License Requirement : Texas P.E. required (or ability to obtain within 6 months)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the planning and design of land development and municipal infrastructure projects. This position is ideal for a licensed P.E. who is a self-starter, problem solver, and natural mentor , and who is interested in a clear path toward leadership and potential partnership within the firm.

In this role, you’ll oversee a diverse portfolio of projects including land development, paving, grading, utilities, drainage, H&H, and roadway improvements. You’ll serve as a technical resource for junior engineers, lead design efforts, coordinate with subconsultants, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design and production of plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously from conceptual design through construction support.
  • Serve as Engineer of Record, sealing designs in your areas of expertise.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to EITs and junior PEs.
  • Coordinate with surveyors, geotechnical engineers, environmental specialists, and other subconsultants.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies (Cities, Counties, TxDOT, TCEQ, FEMA, USACE, Fire Marshals) to secure approvals.
  • Prepare proposals, scopes, and budgets; monitor project schedules and financial performance.
  • Support clients with site layouts, cost opinions, schedule planning, and feasibility studies.
  • Proactively identify and present solutions to engineering challenges.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • 7+ years of progressive civil engineering experience (land development and / or municipal projects).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design tools.
  • Strong communication, technical writing, and client interaction skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, budgets, and staff with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to balance competing priorities.
