CAMP DIRECTOR – PALI ADVENTURES

Running Springs, California | Full-Time, Year-Round | Live-In During Summer

Pali Adventures isn't your average summer camp. We're the camp your childhood dreams couldn't even imagine-where kids ages 8–16 choose their own adventures, from flying trapeze to secret-agent training to filming their own movies.

We've welcomed tens of thousands of campers and staff over the past two decades , building a vast alumni network and a powerful tradition. Each summer, our 50%+ rate of veteran staff ensures that the magic only grows stronger with every year.

Now, we're looking for a Camp Director to lead the charge into our most thrilling summer yet. This isn't a behind-the-scenes role. This is a center-stage, kids-screaming-your-name, life-changing-leadership opportunity.

ABOUT PALI MOUNTAIN

Pali Mountain is a 250-acre mountaintop wonderland nestled at 6,400 feet in the San Bernardino Mountains-just 90 minutes from LA. It includes :

  • 🎭 Pali Adventures : A world-class specialty summer camp with over 25 adventure tracks.
  • 🔬 Pali Institute : An award-winning outdoor education program for 4th–12th graders.
  • 🏕️ Pali Retreat & Conference Center : A top-tier venue for groups, schools, and organizations year-round.

Our guests come for adventure. They leave as part of the Pali family-and many return again and again.

THE GIG : CAMP DIRECTOR

You'll lead 350 campers and 100 enthusiastic 100 staff

to the best summer of their lives. You'll be the energy engine, visionary programmer, and lead motivator for a camp experience that campers and families will never forget.

You'll command our state-of-the-art 30,000 sq ft dining hall like a Broadway performer (with the culinary quality to match), set the tone each morning, and appear at meals and programs with energy, humor, and heart.

And yes, if you're staying in Preston Lodge , enjoy cozy evenings in our most luxurious room, complete with fireplace and high-end bathroom-a quiet place to recharge before stepping back into the fun.

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have 5+ years of camp leadership experience (overnight camp preferred).
  • You're charismatic, decisive, and warm-a natural magnet for kids, staff, and families.
  • You thrive living on-site during summer , in the middle of the action (not behind a screen).
  • You understand boundaries and encourage camper interaction that's respectful, kind, and safe ( side hugs collected like trophies are encouraged! ).
  • You can train, inspire, and lead a team of new and returning staff with excellence.
  • You dream big but can also roll up your sleeves.

    • YOUR YEAR AT PALI

    Off-Season (Sept–May)

  • Location : Office-based in Running Springs (with off-site private house available if needed).
  • Connect with families through personal outreach, knowing that many will recognize your dedication with heartfelt thank-you emails for taking such great care of their kids and giving them a summer they'll always remember. Help them reenroll for another unforgettable adventure!
  • Sit down for meals with Pali Institute students 2x's daily to showcase our summer magic to future potential campers.
  • Bring your dream program to life with an unheard of budget to create outrageous new electives.
  • Design exciting new experiences and enhance our multi-week camper progression system.
  • Support staff recruitment and training efforts.
  • Collaborate with ownership and leadership to strategize and innovate.
  • Ensure ACA compliance, and bring best practices to the table.

    • On-Season (June–August)

  • Live on-site in premium housing and lead from the front.
  • Appear at every meal and activity-as the pulse and personality of camp.
  • Supervise and inspire over 100 staff while empowering team leaders to run high-functioning programs.
  • With a trusted assistant director and leadership team leading key moments, you'll have space to refresh as needed and keep your energy high all summer long for the moments that matter most.
  • Monitor camper feedback and tweak programming weekly to blow minds.
  • Handle any parent or camper escalations with poise, warmth, and humor.

  • $80,000–$115,000 / year
